JOHOR BARU: The Johor state government is ready to provide counselling to the brothers of Mohammad Dizhwar Dzaky (pic) who died after allegedly being abused by his stepmother. Meanwhile, Johor Baru (South) Deputy OCPD Supt Mohd Afzanizam Yahaya said early investigation showed that there were bruises on the cheeks and forehead of Dizhwar's four-year-old brother. "We may increase the remand period of Dizhwar's stepmother and father if necessary," he said when contacted on Saturday (Dec 29). It was earlier reported that Mohammad Dizhwar was killed on Wednesday (Dec 26) after succumbing to injuries from abuse. A post-mortem on Mohammad Dizhwar indicated that the five-year-old had died due to blunt force trauma to the abdomen.
