HURON-BRUCE – Jan Johnstone, the NDP candidate and her team opted for a Zoom party instead of the usual election night gathering to ensure everyone stays safe and healthy. Johnstone said it was exciting to watch the returns come in from across the country, especially in several areas where the NDP were doing well. Johnstone and her team shifted from fearing a Conservative majority, to speculating on how long a Conservative minority would last, to hoping for a Liberal minority while improving their own seat count. “I would like to thank all my supporters and well-wishers,” Johnstone said, “and I would like to congratulate Ben Lobb.”Johnstone commended her small but enthusiastic team for a job well done. “It was a smaller campaign due to the snap election but we had a dedicated team,” she said.
