Johnston, Mooney and O’Brien recalls loaves due to metal fears

Bakery Johnston, Mooney & O’Brien has recalled all its sliced bread with a best before date of February 11th because of a risk it might contain small pieces of metal. The company took the precaution when it discovered that a piece of an industrial sieve was missing on Wednesday night. It apologised for its actions stating that a withdrawal was the “most appropriate course of action, however slight the risk might be to the consumer”. The company is removing affected packs from the supermarket shelves in co-operation with retailers. Anybody in possession of a Johnston, Mooney and O’Brien product with the best before date of February 11th can return the product to where it was bought or send the packaging to the company’s headquarters in Finglas to claim a full refund.
