John le Carre's wife Valerie Jane Eustace has died just weeks of him of a 'broken heart'. Jonny Geller of The Curtis Brown Group tweeted: "Jane Cornwell, devoted wife of David Cornwell (John le Carré) passed away last weekend. David wrote everyday & she read & commented on each page. Their marriage was plagued by le Carre's many affairs, which he claimed were essential for his creative process. Jane also confided in a pal: "Nobody can have all of David [Cornwall, le Carre's real name]."
