Hall of Famer John Smoltz and Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona joined golf standout Marina Alex on Thursday to preview the start of the 2019 LPGA Tour season, discussing a number of topics that included Cooperstown as well as Mets manager Mickey Callaway. "It was one of those once-in-a-million scenarios I personally never dreamt of," Smoltz said, recalling his 2015 induction. This has led to an optimistic atmosphere in Queens, one in which Francona feels his former protege will eventually succeed. "I mean it's kind of infectious and he's going to be a star whether it's a pitching coach, manager, running the minor leagues. He's going to be a star in whatever he sets out to do."
