John Mahoney, who as the cranky, blue-collar dad in Frasier played counterpoint to pompous sons Frasier and Niles, has died. Mahoney was perhaps most widely known for his role as Martin Crane, the ex-cop father of uppity psychiatrist Frasier Crane on the acclaimed sitcom Frasier.
