On Saturday, August 13, Desjardins won his first World Cup medal at the World Paracycling Championships in Baie-Comeau, Québec. He took third place, finishing just three seconds behind the winner to earn the bronze medal. Riadh Tarsim of France placed first with a time of one hour, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds. After his bronze medal win, Desjardins was taking his success in stride. Desjardins was also fortunate to have his wife Vanessa and daughters Stella and Zayla in the audience in Baie-Comeau.
