Joel Kitili was on Wednesday sworn in as the new Deputy Inspector General of police by the National Police Service. Kitili served as acting Deputy Inspector General since September last year and his appointment in office faced a lot of criticism from Cord leaders who termed it unconstitutional. Grace Kahindi who served as Deputy Inspector General moved to court to challenge her removal from office but later resolved to settle the matter out of court. NPS had revealed that Kahindi was unfit for office due to her age which was meant for retirement. Mr Kitili takes over from Grace Kaindi who was appointed ambassador with no specific duty.
