The prime minister, faced himself with calls to resign, was responding to another leader's decision to step aside. Neither Trudeau nor Biden immediately took those setbacks as their cue to leave, which is perhaps not all that surprising. The most obvious difference between Biden and Trudeau is that one of them is 81 and the other is 52. If patriotism compelled Biden to step aside, it seems to be persuading Trudeau to stay on.
