TO A few days before Christmas, Joe Manchin appeared on Fox News to publicly retract his support for the Build Back Better Act. If Build Back Better fails, Manchin may well be remembered as the man who killed the planet. Since joining the Senate, Manchin has personally raised more than $ 4.5 million from the coal companies it owns. There is a chance that Biden could still elude Manchin by extending the child tax credit, lifting millions of American children out of poverty. If Biden wants to win the war for democracy, then he must muster the courage to name him, loudly and repeatedly.
