Jo Goodhew drops out of Rangitata election contestSUPPLIED Rangitata MP Jo GoodhewRangitata MP Jo Goodhew will not seek re-election, saying her time of "rising through the National ranks" is over. The news means that, come election time, the Rangitata electorate will elect a new MP for the first time since 2005. Goodhew announced last year that she would seek a fifth term as Rangitata MP, and was selected as National's candidate unopposed. National Party Rangitata electorate chairman Mark Oldfield said he was "quite sad" about Goodhew's decision. The announcement came as a surprise to Labour Party Rangitata candidate Jo Luxton, but would not change the way she would run her campaign.
