Jo Brand will not face police action following her controversial battery acid joke on a BBC radio programme. Brand, 61, has since apologised for the comments which were made Tuesday on the Radio 4 Heresy show. The force stated: 'Police received an allegation of incitement to violence on 13 June, relating to comments made on a radio programme. The BBC said it regretted any offence caused by the radio programme, which was never intended 'to encourage or condone violence'. The corporation said comedy would 'always push boundaries', but added that it would edit the Heresy programme, which is hosted by Victoria Coren Mitchell.
