Miguel Angel Jimenez rode to the rescue of the Senior Open Championship at Carnoustie yesterday, his third-round 65 providing the leaderboard with a much-needed stellar name at the top. The tag of The Most Interesting Golfer in the World which adorns his Wikipedia page may be a trifle fanciful, but there is enough about Jimenez, who was winning on the… Just about everybody connected with the championship had been praying for something or somebody to bring it to life and the 52-year-old Spaniard mercifully provided it. He is now the hot favourite to land his first major at any level.
