Miguel Angel Jimenez tied the course record with a 9-under 63 on Monday to win the rain-delayed Dominion Energy Charity Classic in Richmond, Va., the first of three tournaments in the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs. It was the second win of the season and the eighth for Jimenez in his PGA Tour Champions career. Jimenez tied Montgomerie for the lead with a birdie at the 11th and pulled away with birdies at Nos. Not only did that vault him past Montgomerie (68) into second place, it also earned him a spot in the second event in the playoffs. Jimenez’s 63 matched the course record shared by Kevin Sutherland (2016), Langer (2017) and Vijay Singh (2017).
