The deceased were identified as – Shravan Yadav (30), Heeralal Yadav (22), both brothers, and their cousin Shiv Lal Yadav (20). At least four persons, including three of a family, were killed allegedly by Maoists in separate incidents reported since Sunday in Garhwa and Gumla districts of Jharkhand. Meanwhile, an alert has been sounded in the wake of the Maoists giving a state-wide call to observe martyrs’ week from July 28. On Sunday, three persons, including two real brothers, were killed by suspected Maoists, operating in the Koel-Shankh zone, after being kidnapped from their village, Bandi Khajuri. It appears that some villagers were also involved in aiding the Maoists in carrying out the killings,” said Garhwa SP Priyadarshi Alok.
