The attacker, reported to be around 30, approached the man outside his home in the heart of the city's Jewish Quarter at around 11:45am on Friday. Condemning the attack, he said it "in no way reflects the prevailing climate in Strasbourg," which has a large Jewish community. Strasbourg magistrates confirmed to Le Journal de Dimanche that a man was being questioned, but provided no further details.
