Hundreds of members of the Jewish community in Ethiopia gathered on Wednesday morning to express their longing to be reunited with their families in Israel, calling on Israel to approve their applications to immigrate into the country. The events took place in synagogues in Gondar and Addis Ababa, where thousands of Ethiopians have been waiting for years for the Israeli government to approve their requests. Every day I come into contact with heart-wrenching stories of longing, from members of the Ethiopian community in Israel who have family in Israel. I call on the Israeli government to uphold its decisions and to stop procrastinating on this issue.
