At an all-employee meeting today, JetBlue announced some of the biggest news in the airline’s 20-year history. According to the announcement, JetBlue will begin flying from New York and Boston to London several times daily beginning in 2021. With JetBlue entering the market, it will be the seventh carrier to fly nonstop between New York and London, and the fifth between Boston and London. It was speculated that the airline could convert some of that order into the longer-range variant, the A321LR, in order to begin transatlantic flights. JetBlue wants to muscle in on the action on one of the world’s most lucrative business routes, from New York to London, which is estimated to bring in around $1 billion annually.
