Jet2 lifted by demise of Thomas Cook

The fallout from the collapse of Thomas Cook is being felt across the travel industry. The owner of Jet2.com, the airline and package holiday provider, has upgraded its profit forecasts for the year this morning after experiencing increased levels of customer demand since the collapse of Thomas Cook last month. Jet2.com is the third biggest British airline behind British Airways and Easyjet. It flew more than 12 million customers last year and has nine bases across the UK. Dart said in the trading update that it had seen “encouraging levels of late season bookings” with demand for flights and package holidays strengthening.
