Zhao, who made history in 2021 as the second woman and the first woman of colour to win the best director Oscar, has also been nominated for best director. The film is in the running for the best film Oscar too, opposite Bugonia, F1, Frankenstein, Marty Supreme, One Battle after Another, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, Sinners, and Train Dreams.
