When I tried adding another item to get my money’s worth, the shipping charge increased yet again. Our family experienced a similar situation when we went into lockdown and wanted to purchase art supplies for the kids. The cost of shipping, which even non-Prime members generally don’t pay, is built into the price of many items. This does a disservice to consumers, as the benefits of the free market come from having a variety of competitors. The last thing we want is to emerge from this pandemic and realize that Amazon is the only game left in town.
