Michael Jordan had very little use for Jerry Krause when he was winning six titles in Chicago and ascending the NBA’s Mount Rushmore during those golden 90’s, deriding the team’s vice president with the nickname, “Crumbs.’’Krause wasn't necessarily disheveled, but he didn't have Hollywood leading-man looks, either. “Crumbs and I, we keep our distance,’’ Jordan once told Sports Illustrated. In the end, Jordan had to respect the work that Krause did in building one of the NBA’s top dynasties. --Convinced the Bulls’ head coach, Doug Collins, to add a loner/hippie/odd duck and minor league basketball coach, Phil Jackson, to his staff in 1987. Then later being behind the move to elevate Jackson to the post where he won his first six titles.
