And, as with the machine-created video, Chism’s innocent YouTube channel spiralled into bizarre and arguably abusive territory. YouTube claims it is improving its filters to weed out automatically generated content deemed too dark or offensive. Even a major technology company like YouTube, which employs thousands of human moderators, can’t be expected to keep up.
