Amazon Chief Executive Jeff Bezos this week has sold more than US$3.1 billion worth of shares in his company, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission compiled by OpenInsider, CNBC reports. Earlier this year, Bezos sold more than US$4.1 billion worth of shares in the company. He still owns more than 54 million shares, worth more than US$170 billion, making him the richest person in the world. By way of comparison, Bezos sold US$2.8 billion worth of shares in 2019.
