Jean has been writing a weekly column in the Westmeath Independent for over ten years now. She published a book containing some of her articles in 2018. Her weekly articles tell of life from the 1950s to the present day. Articles and short stories of hers have been published in various magazines and newspapers in Ireland and in the US.
