Iredale and Ms Hang had been together for about a year before she ended their relationship. Ms Hang, a single mum-of-one, became a "human torch" when she was set on fire, GVTT reported. The suspect had his face covered and arrived on a motorbike when Ms Hang and her shop were doused in petrol and set alight, it was claimed. He wrote on Facebook: "The shop [where Ms Hang] worked with my wife was turned into a fireball. The website Tuoi Tre reported that Ms Hang was in a coma and had suffered burns to 70 per cent of her body.
