Given the horror stories that have come from a pitcher pulling up with elbow pain, it was understandable that J.A. Happ feared the worst when he came out of the Toronto Blue Jays’ loss Sunday with soreness in his left elbow. Considering what it could have been, a stint on the 10-day disabled list is a welcome solution. He will be eligible to return April 27, as Toronto ends a series in St. Louis. Manager John Gibbons, who shared Happ’s concerns following Sunday’s game, said time on the disabled list would give the inflammation a chance to calm down.
