Jays have one week to fix pitching and keep Series hope alive
Yet, with 66 games to play, the Jays have possession of the first wild-card spot and remain in control of their own fate. That means the pressure is on Jays general manager Ross Atkins in the days leading up to the Aug. 2 trade deadline. Regardless of whether the Jays make a run at a blockbuster trade for someone like Soto, these are the two areas that can’t be ignored. The rotation could use some help, but the Jays figure to make the post-season whether they get it or not. The Jays have their work cut out for them over the next week.
