Jayroma, former Tory party chairman’s company, folds

Lord Feldman and David Cameron celebrate the Conservative Party’s surprise victory at the general election in 2015 ANDREW PARSONS/I-IMAGESA family clothing business run by Lord Feldman of Elstree, the former Conservative party chairman and a close friend of David Cameron, has collapsed into administration after 47 years’ trading. Deloitte has been appointed administrator to Jayroma, a clothing manufacturer that at its height supplied many of Britain’s leading retailers. Lord Feldman had been attempting an orderly wind-down of the business after a consultation with its 45 employees at the start of the year. The company stopped taking new orders and advised staff, customers and suppliers of the planned closure in February. However, the directors concluded that a solvent winding down was impossible after the cancellation of a significant number of orders and the failure of customers to pay big bills.
