Jayde Adams paied tribute to Victoria Wood on Strictly Come Dancing tonight, dancing the Charleston to the late comic’s Ballad of Barry and Freda. However, the dance scored them only 28 out of a possible 40, leaving them ninth out of the 12 couples on the leaderboard. Anton du Beke also said there were technical issues that needed work but added that it was ‘a brilliantly performed number… I really really enjoyed it’. This week’s programme was celebrating 100 years of the BBC, with couples performing to either a familiar theme tune or a dance in tribute to an unforgettable programme. The show kicked off with the professionals dancing a tribute to the BBC, taking over several of the Corporation’s programmes.
