Jawar Mohammed face extradition campaign as Ethiopians say “America is not a safe heaven for Terrorist”

Jawar Mohammed, considers himself as “Oromo activist” and he is co-founder and executive director of US based ethnic Oromo media network, OMN, is facing campaign for extradition on grounds of what his detractors say is terrorist activity in Ethiopia while he is based in the United States. borkenaMay 13,2019Ethiopians,who are mainly based in the diaspora, are deepening campaign for extradition of Minnesota based activist,Jawar Mohammed, who is believed to be behind unprecedented radicalization of young ethnic oromo. A considerable number of politicized Ethiopians, even in Ethiopia, to tend to think that Jawar is subtly furthering ethno-religious radicalization in Ethiopia. He is seen as a hate-monger who is taking the country along the path that brought about genocide in Rwanda. For radicalized Ethic Oromo youth groups, he is rather considered as a “hero and freedom fighter.”What seem to be clear is that he commands considerable influence among radicalized Oromo youth and seem to have run his own de facto structure camouflaged within Oromo regional state.
