MIRI: A rescue mission is underway to help a Japanese tourist who was injured while climbing Mount Mulu in the Mulu National Park. The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) has said that it is trying to deploy helicopters from its Air Wing to save the tourist, 25-year-old Akihiro Noda. Miri Fire and Rescue chief, Supt Law Poh Kiong, said the Air Wing Unit has been alerted by the Department's Marudi station. Supt Law said efforts are now underway to pick up the injured tourist with the Air Wing helicopter trying to navigate the heavy cloud cover around Mount Mulu. Bomba Sarawak said preliminary information received is that the injured tourist is suffering hip and backbone injuries.
