Japan condemns North Korean submarine-launched missile test

Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe North Korea has condemned a reported North Korean submarine-launched ballistic missile. South Korean defence officials then said that the missile flew about 30 kilometres (19 miles) before exploding midair. North Korea last test-fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile in April, calling it as a success that strengthened its ability to attack enemies with a “dagger of destruction”. The launch came a day after US and South Korean military officials said they were ready to deploy an advanced US missile defence system in South Korea to cope with North Korean threats. Abe also said the missile launch did not gravely affect Japan’s national security, it added.
