Japan 20-year yield goes negative as treasuries rally to record


The 30-year US Treasury bond yield fell three basis points to 2.13%, after touching a record low of 2.1274%. The 20-year Japanese bond yield fell to minus 0.005% and yielded 0.005% as of 1:46pm in Tokyo, falling 2 1/2 basis points from Tuesday, according to Japan Bond Trading Co. Australia’s 10-year yield was 10 basis points lower at 1.85%, after earlier reaching an unprecedented 1.84%. The average yield on securities in the Bloomberg Global Developed Sovereign Bond Index reached a record-low 0.4%. The yield on the 10-year security slipped three basis points to 1.3432%, after declining to 1.3415% for the first time.
