Japan’s dragons on the rise

Following the route of the rising dragon region of Shoryudo, the festival brings the very best of nine prefectures – Toyama, Ishikawa, Fukui, Nagano, Gifu, Shizuoka, Aichi, Mie and Shiga – to Thailand. Menu highlights are Hida Beef from Hida in Gifu prefecture and “Eel on the rise”, a speciality of both Shizuoka and Mie prefectures. Dessert include Urio, a confectionary that is well-known in Nagoya and Unagi Pie from Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. The confection contains fresh water eel fished in Hamana Lake that’s said to be the best tasting in Japan. Kids will love the mock-up of the village called Shirakwako, a world heritage site high in the mountains.
