In reaction to the BNP chief’s call for national unity after the Gulshan cafe attack, ruling Awami League leaders have set a condition for the BNP - to sever ties with Jamaat. Ahamed, who heads a committee of BNP-leaning professionals, sees Khaleda’s call for national unity as a ‘huge opportunity’ for the party. Some of the leaders of pro-BNP professionals also share the view of Awami League leaders. “If we make this movement a success, we will get back everything we lost in past eight years,” he said. He advised the BNP chief to visit the divisional headquarters.
