DHAKA, Nov 28, 2023 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today convicted and sentencedJamaat-e-Islami central leader Laskar Mohammad Taslim to two-year jail in anarson case filed with capital's Kafrul Police Station. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Torikul Islam pronounced the judgment inabsence of the convict and issued an arrest warrant against him. According to the case documents, Taslim and his cohorts stopped a CNG auto-rickshaw beside Kafrul Staff Quarter area on March 21, 2013, and torched thevehicle. The auto-rickshaw driver later filed the case with Kafrul PoliceStation. A total ofnine witnesses testified in the case on different hearing dates.
