Saturday PUNCH learnt that there were violent clashes between the supporters of both parties in some parts of the city after Governor Darius Ishaku of the PDP was declared re-elected. Angwan NTA, Angwan Kassa, Nya Bukaka, Water Board and Main Market areas of the city were seriously affected. Mr Bernard Yakubu, a resident of water board area of the city, called for a return of calm to Jalingo, saying the violent clashes had affected many innocent people. The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Bala Abu, condemned the violence in the city. He said no fewer than six people were killed and 56 injured during the post-election violence in the state.
