Jake Nointin steps down as PBS Youth chief - Nation

KENINGAU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Youth chief Jake Nointin has quit the party amid speculation that he will be joining an opposition party. He told reporters here Friday that he resigned because he was no longer happy with the direction of PBS. Nointin, who is widely speculated to join Parti Warisan Sabah led by Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, said that the party had lost its direction under acting president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili. PBS leaders could not be immediately contacted for comments on Nointin’s resignation which was widely anticipated. Nointin's brother Paul was elected Penampang MP on a PBS ticket in 1999 but quit the party to join Upko led by Tan Sri Bernard Dompok.
