This involves a Rs Rs 2.11 lakh crore recapitalisation plan aimed at pushing banks to lend more, and thus, stimulate the economy. The funding for the banks recapitalisation scheme will come from recapitalisation bonds (Rs 1.35 lakh crore) and market loans and budgetary support (Rs 76,000 crore). Announcing the measures, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, "We have decided on the steps needed to sustain the growth momentum. "That will depend on the nature of bonds to be issued," Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in response.
