JAIPUR: Eight members of the Pakistan-based terror organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were awarded life imprisonment by an additional district court on Wednesday for plotting terror activities and recruiting Indians to the terror OOf the eight convicted, three are from Pakistan. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 3 lakh each under section-20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.The Pakistani LeT members - Asgar Ali , Shakkar Ulla and Mohammad Iqbal - have been lodged in separate jails across India. The court asked the respective home departments of Rajasthan and Punjab to take action against the jail officials of Bikaner and Jodhpur in Rajasthan and Nabha and Patiala in Punjab. All of them were in touch with a LeT commander based in Pakistan and the jailed Pakistani LeT men.The eight LeT members were convicted on November 30. "It not only involves the sovereignty and independence of the country but many innocent lives and property would have been lost had the accused succeeded in their mission.
