NewsFive policemen arrested in connection with the deaths of two Jaffna University students were remanded again till December 2 after being produced before the Jaffna Magistrate's Court today. The officers were arrested on October 21 after a bullet was found from the body of one of the two deceased students, though police had earlier claimed that the two victims had been killed in a motorbike crash. It is alleged that the two students were killed after they were fired upon by the arrested policemen, who had been manning a checkpoint near the scene of the motorbike crash. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is currently conducting a probe into the incident.
