Kolkata's Jadavpur University has once again been rocked by students agitation with Vice Chancellor Suranjan Das being holed up in his office since Thursday afternoon. Students have undertaken a sit-down demonstration right outside the VC's office opposing the state government's decision to do away with elected students body on the campus. In a bid to de-politicise education campuses in the state, the Mamata Banerjee administration has decided to set up apolitical students' union in all state-run institutes.
