Preliminary vote-counting trends made it clear that the left-wing Democratic Students Federation (DSF) has bagged the most number of votes in the Engineering Department. According to current election trends, the total number of votes in the Engineering Department is 1405. Therefore, ABVP has managed to one-up SFI and relegate it to the third position in the JU Engineering Department, right after contesting the polls for the first time. Notably, the student wing of the saffron camp had decided to poll candidates for all student union posts this year. The Jadavpur University student union polls were held yesterday.
