It’s a rosier picture than what was shown 50 years ago in the original film made about these sessions. It’s pushed the album in question, “Let it Be” to the top of the charts in the U.K., half a century after the curtain came down. Although they were no longer a working band after 1970, the four boys from Liverpool are inextricably tied together, their Twitter accounts still posting about the band and each other. Just over 40 minutes long, all the Sturm und Drang of their rehearsals evaporates and a great band does what it does best. But the Beatles, in their own hypnotic way, are still intact and still drawing us in.
