Speaking at an iftar party arranged by the Bangshal thana unit of Jatiya Party on Sunday, he also urged the government to directly buy paddy from farmers. "Jatiya Party will always give the prime minister all-out support in its fight against corruption. So, we want her to take strict action if there's any corruption in the paddy procurement process," Quader said. He said middlemen, not farmers, are reaping the benefits as the government is only buying rice from mill owners. The Jatiya Party acting chief also urged the government not to export rice as it may lead to a food crisis in case ere is a natural disaster.
