MANILA, Philippines — Despite the possibility of not returning for a second term in the Senate, Sen. JV Ejercito said he does not feel any bitterness over his situation. As of 10:10 a.m. Monday, Ejercito ranks 13th in the senatorial race with 14,224,622 votes next to Sen. Nancy Binay at the 12th spot with 14,448,498 votes. "I do not feel any bitterness or even [depression] about the possibility of not making the Top 12 because the outpouring of support from the public has been overwhelming," Ejercito said on Twitter. pic.twitter.com/OANndtubIO — JV Ejercito (@jvejercito) May 20, 2019The Commission on Elections is looking to hold the proclamation of the new set of senators by Tuesday. The poll body is also waiting for the COCs from Jones, Isabela, where special elections are being held after vote counting machines were set on fire.
