The Jahangirnagar University (JU) university authorities have issued a notice barring female students from entering their dormitories after 10pm. The notice signed by Registrar Abu Bakar Siddique on Thursday was circulated in all eight female dormitories of the campus. According to the notice, entrances to the female dormitories will be closed at 10pm. Earlier in 2014, the university authorities issued a notice restricting entry and exit of students of Jahanara Imam hall after 10pm that saw heavy protests by female students. Professor Koushik Saha, president of the JU Hall Provosts’ Committee, said the rule of female students not being allowed to enter their dormitories 10pm had been there since long.
