JSD (Inu): Constituency boundaries need not be re-demarcated

The Inu-led Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) has opined that the boundaries of constituencies need not be re-demarcated before the next parliamentary election, as no census will be conducted within this period. Leaders of the JSD, a member party of the ruling Awami League-led 14-party alliance, expressed the opinion during a dialogue with Election Commission officials in the commission’s office at Agargaon in Dhaka yesterday. The JSD leaders put forward a total of 17 recommendations during the talk. They also demanded the commission take measures so that no party using the “JSD” name can register with the commission before the polls. The other faction is led by Sharif Nurul Ambia, Najmul Haque Prodhan and Moin Uddin Khan Badal, among others.
