"Rama Naga has been found to be involved in effigy burning of Gujarat government and Gauraksha Samiti held at 9:30 pm on September 19, 2016 at Sabarmati Dhaba. This act of Rama Naga is unbecoming of a student of JNU." The letter further warned the student from getting involved in such activity against otherwise "disciplinary" action would be taken against him. Former Students' Union President Ashutosh Kumar was also issued a notice citing complaints received against them over a year ago. Following the notice issued to them, students burnt the notices outside the Vice-Chancellor's office.
